Musical beginnings for Pre-K students (and parents)!

All Levels Welcome! • Ages 2 – 5 • Tuesday/Thursday from July 18 – Aug 10
30-Minute Classes • Parent Attendance Mandatory

Students will explore sound, music, song and movement in this innovative course. Each week features a new song or song game that will get your child singing and moving to the beat! Basic musical principles will be introduced such as pitch (with our boomwhacker instruments!) rhythm and creativity through motion. Students will be encouraged to develop at their own pace. Cost:  $149.00 (4 weeks)

Rock Band!

Beginner Session ($299): Tuesday, July 25th- Fri July 28th from 1-4 pm each day.

We will limit each class to 4-7 students, and keep ages close in range. Beginner: 7-10 yr old. Intermediate: 10-12 yr old, and a late intermediate: 12 and above.

Play as a team. Learn to improvise, read chord charts and be a BAND!!! You will learn all the things you need to know in order to go from nothing, to being ready to play in front of a live audience. Learn how to Listen to one another, work together towards a long term goal. Learn the attitudes and practice strategies that will lead you to a successful performance. Play in a live performance held at the end of the week!

Summer Instrumental Band Camp

Starting June 26th, 2017, Every Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm.   Cost:  ($199 per week)

Students from 4th to 8th grade participate in a rigorous four day band intensive program! They begin each day in full ensemble working on scales, intonation, and balance. They also rehearse band pieces which will be performed in the concert at the end of the week!

Instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Percussion

Musical Theater Camp

During this intensive workshop, students will learn about the audition process for musical theatre productions.  The material covered will be relevant for school productions, community theatre productions, or professional endeavors.  Students will learn proper vocal technique and diction, how to select songs that best show their voices, how to prepare material for auditions, and basic musical theatre history and terminology (i.e. ballad versus up-tempo, period versus contemporary, belt versus head voice, etc.). They will also learn how to “cut” a song, in the interest of preparing 16- or 24-bar selections for auditions.  Students will be able to workshop their pieces for each other and provide and receive feedback.  The camp will conclude with a casual performance of each student’s audition song and one group piece.

Middle School Week (Ages 10 – 13): Four days, 10am-2pm including lunch break

High School Week (Ages 14 – 17): Five days, 10am-2pm including lunch break

Students should have some experience with singing.  Choir, school or community theatre, voice lessons, etc.  Some music reading is highly preferable.

Composing Music Through Storytelling

Learn the fundamentals of writing music! Put your Piano skills to work and have fun with a Master Teacher and Composer.

Late Elementary to Intermediate: 5th to 7th or 8th grade

June 26th – 30th: Monday – Friday (5 days )- 9:30-1:00 PM

Coached by American Composer and Concert Pianist Carol Comune

Individual coaching. Students will learn basic skills in melody and rhythmic writing. Group collaboration selecting a fairytale, creating the Music book with text and pictures, recital and performance, and music book production.           Cost: $325
