Chelsea Rose Friedlander, soprano, holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. At the Cleveland Institute of Music, Ms. Friedlander was present with the Max Berman Memorial Award for Outstanding Vocal Performance. Ms. Friedlander is a Master of Music student in Classical Voice at the Manhattan School of Music and studies with the head of the vocal department, Maitland Peters. Awards include:
First Place in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Buckeye Region (Ohio), Second Place in the 2010 Barry Alexander International Vocal Competition, Fourth Place in the 2010 Irma M. Cooper Opera Columbus Competition and was a Finalist in the 2010 Violetta DuPont Vocal Competition, 2010 New York Lyric Opera Theatre Vocal Competition Division: I and the 2010 Dayton Opera Guild College Division Tri-State Vocal Competition.
Over the past Summers, Ms. Friedlander has participated in many Summer programs including Miami Frost School of Music’s Summer Program in Salzburg Austria, Songfest, and Operaworks 2009. Operatic Roles include: Sophie in Werther, Dew Fairy in Hansel & Gretel, Marie in La fille du regiment, and Blonchen in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Seril.
